In the novel Wake, by Lisa McMann, Janie Hanagan is not your average seventeen-year-old girl. Since she was eight she began to get sucked into other people’s dream, “She is floating. Not the falling dream again, she thinks. She is sick to death of the falling dream.” It is really getting old to her, but she doesn’t know how to stop or control it. She can’t even tell anyone what’s going on, she knows they wouldn’t believe her and they’d make fun of her. She falls into a horrific nightmare while driving one day and discovers over time it’s Cable’s recurring dream. They both help each other to come to the reality of their own lives
I really liked this book for the most part. It just took a little bit to get into it. The book was very short and did not give a lot of detail. On the other hand it was a cute love story in the end. I really did not care for the strong language, but that’s pretty much in every book. Overall Wake, by Lisa McMann, was a great book.
