What Dreams Are Made Of, by Marianne Szegedy-Maszak, discusses research into dreaming. Researchers helped by technologies that reveal the brain in action conclude that dreams can be both a road to the unconscious by Freud and no more than random electrical flashes in the brain. Functional magnetic resonance imaging and positron emission tomography are dream researchers' new tools. Scanning people who are sleeping suggests that the same sort of mind-brain dance experienced while waking continues 24 hours a day. I though this was a neat article and I would really like to try a sleep study. William Domhoff states, “Dreams do enact--they dramatize. They are like plays of how we view the world and oneself in it." I agree to an extent. Dreams are sometimes what you want the world to be or the reality of what the world really is.
